Girlcott & Good News

SINCE 2001 Guerrilla Girls On Tour have kept a list of theatre companies across the US not producing any plays by women. We encourage everyone to “girlcott” these theaters and/or put up these stickers in their toilet stalls. You can find some of the lists from previous seasons below.

Since we began addressing gender parity in theatre in 1997, other groups have joined the cause.  Here are a few of our favorites:

The Kilroys: a gang of playwrights and producers in LA who publish a list of unproduced new plays by female and trans* authors every year. Check the 2016 list out here:

The 2016 International Centre for Women Playwrights 50/50 Applause Awards celebrates gender parity on five continents. Here is a link to the 107 honorees for the 2015/16 season.
